LAC LES PINS CATCH REPORTS 2011

2nd – 9th April 2011
Our Opening week 2011 started with rain and wind and the first 40lb'er coming out overnight. Then as forecast, it started to warm up dramatically over the coming week, causing it overall to be a pretty hard week for our 4 anglers from Norfolk. Having said that, they all had a 40lb'er, with young lad Craig's being a Personal Best. Nothing under 30lb, and six 40lb'ers means a great opening week with 817.30 lbs altogether. Great average weight yet again.
47lb 4oz caught by Paul Towler,
44lb 4oz caught again by Paul Towler,
42lb by Paul Weaving,

Another fantastic week for two more anglers from Norfolk and one from Nottinghamshire.
Ten 40’s and twelve 30’s – again nothing under 30lb.
22 carp caught with 7 lost, totalling 808.625lb in weight, with an average of 36.75lbs. For this sized lake, the averages are phenomenal and the carp are feeding really well at the moment – not too hot and water temperatures keeping cool.
Weather warm but from early on in the week, a very cold Northerly wind – OK for the guys in the Med swims as I’m sure it is quite a few degrees warmer over there.
Ron Chillery caught

Stuart Beale caught

Absolutely cracking, and each one achieving their personal best. A few lost, but no detraction from their amazing catches.

LAC LES PINS CATCH RESULTS 2011
16th - 23rd April
We had no one on the lake this week, so our Baz and Colin decided to make the most of it and do a spot of fishing themselves. They only fished at night, because most people know what a workaholic Baz is, and there is always some job to do during the day. Therefore in reality, it was only 2 days of fishing, but a great result, especially for Baz who caught:-
41lb 8oz
40lb 4oz
38lb 14oz
37lb 4oz
35lb 10oz
I am afraid he put Colin to shame this time, but he still caught a
37lb 14oz
2 lost but catch weighing 231.37lbs with an average of 38.56lbs. Great for 2 anglers for 2 days.

LAC LES PINS CATCH RESULTS 2011
23rd – 30th April 2011
I know I am posting this early as the week has only just begun, but I really must let you know that our 5 anglers from Wolverhampton have caught 11 carp in the first 24 hours – among them a lake record of 66lb 4oz, 51lb 10oz, and also 3 commons in their late 30’s. Nothing under 30lb.
Absolutely brilliant and still another 6 days to go – so watch this space.
(30th April) Well, I was not wrong to ask you to watch this space, and you are not going to be disappointed – what an amazing week with 47 carp caught to a total of 1693lbs, and another great average of 36.5lbs. 8 lost.
Mostly cloudy with some sunny intervals and very cold at night.
Threatening to storm a couple of days, but not really amounting to anything. The Northerly wind again kept the water temperature to a balance that the carp liked, so no sign of spawning yet.
A brilliant week – congratulations boys, and the champagne went down a treat.

Re: LAC LES PINS CATCH REPORTS 2011
Hi all!! what a week we just had at Lac Les Pins!! a total of 47 caught and 8 lost! in 24 hrs a had 3 takes resulting in a 45 (Bazza), 51.10 (Shoulders) and a 56.04 (Breezeblock) new pb!!! A little confussion over the fish the fish on the site in the dark is a 40.08 and a new 40 that i am hoping will be called Paris. Also the one with the big Scale was a 30. ive sent Chris a few pics yeterday and today so hopefully she will get them posted up asap. Fishy Rich had a cracker at 66.04 just short of the lake record by 12oz (matey) ohhh and it was off a 30yd mis-cast!!!! but fairplay to the old codger....i thought his ticker was gona give up on him at one stage!!!
lol!!! The nutty Professor had his pb of 42lb and hadnt even caught a 20 until then. we call him the nutty prof because he looks just like him.....but he is actually nuts after all!!!! ha ha!!! Fair play mate!!! Sambo had his new pb of 45lb, Minty had his first 50 at 51.02 but it had grown to 51.04 overnite. At that rate it will be a 60 by the end of the week!!!! lmao!!! seriously though if anyone is thinking about a trip abroad for quality fish you can do alot worse than going to Lac Les Pins. i have fished it for the past 5years now and it goes from strength to strength...........and it wont be long before it does a 70!!!! Baz and Col work tirelessly to ensure you have a great holiday and Chris is always good for a wind up especially if you start with the male chauveounist jokes!!!! ha ha!!!

Re: LAC LES PINS CATCH REPORTS 2011
Hi
Just got back from Lac Les Pins what a week the four of us had again, spa total of 43 fish for 1,969lb and battler at 50lb on the last night. a total of three fish in the 50s one at 65lb 5oz, 19 fish 40 plus and the rest 30 plus o yea one at 28!!
Yet again the food and hospitality second to none, a great crack with Colin again, as normal he will do anything for you nothing to much trouble. If anyone is thinking of going to France you will be hard to find a better place this is my 5th time and still enjoy it as much as the first and the fish are just getting bigger and bigger and sum stunning fish too. One last thing just remember this is not a runs water you need to put the bait in and work for them but I asure you the rewards are there as you can see by there catch reports.
signing out the kings of Les Pins !!!!

30th April – 7th May 2011
We had 4 of our regular guys from Wiltshire this week, and another amazing week was had by all. They had originally wanted last week, but got pipped to the post and thought they could not have as brilliant a week as Craig McEvoy group, but we proved them wrong with another 60, 3 -50’s, 17 – 40’s, 23 – 30’s and only 1 under 30lb at 28lb 4oz coming out again with a total of 45 carp weighing 1,969lbs, and a top average at 43.75lb’s.
Varying weather with thunderstorms, strong winds and rain for a couple of days, but still staying warm. Also brilliant sunshine with the wind keeping it at a nice temperature. The carp started to spawn on Wednesday, so hopefully it will be over soon for this weeks anglers.

LAC LES PINS CATCH RESULTS 2011
7th – 14th May 2011
There were 6 anglers this week, 2 regulars Graham Dunn and his son Jamie from Gillingham, Kent. He was here for 5 weeks last year at different times. Some weeks he just stayed on – he just loves it here. The other 4 anglers are new to Lac Les Pins from Lancashire. As mentioned before, spawning started last Wednesday, so we were rooting for our guys to score well, and the lake did not disappoint. Even with spawning still going on due to the heat – it was hot, hot, hot with a couple of nasty thunderstorms, and being slower than of late, our guys still had a brilliant week with 37 carp totalling 1,461lbs and another super average weight of 39.48lb. 8 lost. Absolutely well done to them all.
Greedy “Shoulders” was caught twice weighing
53lb 12oz and going down a little with being caught, at

LAC LES PINS CATCH RESULTS 2011
14th – 21st May 2011
4 of our regular anglers on the lake this week, as you know Graham and his son stayed from last week.
Fishing has been very slow due to the extreme heat, and most caught early evening or morning when cooler. Spawning seems to be over but the carp don’t like eating when it is so hot, they prefer sunbathing.
Still a cracking week, with the lake managing to produce good weights with 6 – 40’s, 17 – 30’s and 9 -20’s. 33 Carp totalling 1,128lb’s with an average weight of 34.18lb.
48lb caught by Stuart Hobkirk

42lb 14oz caught again by Stuart Hobkirk

39lb 8oz, 38lb 12oz common, 38lb 1oz, 37lb 14oz, 37lb 3oz, 37lb x 2, 36lb 4oz, 36lb, 35lb x 3, 34lb 8oz x 2, 34lb x 2, 31lb
And

4 of our regular anglers on the lake this week, as you know Graham and his son stayed from last week.
Fishing has been very slow due to the extreme heat, and most caught early evening or morning when cooler. Spawning seems to be over but the carp don’t like eating when it is so hot, they prefer sunbathing.
Still a cracking week, with the lake managing to produce good weights with 6 – 40’s, 17 – 30’s and 9 -20’s. 33 Carp totalling 1,128lb’s with an average weight of 34.18lb.

6 of our regular anglers on the lake this week, 2 from Lincolnshire, and 4 from Liverpool. It turned out to be a bit of a nightmare with extreme heat causing spawning once again. Catches started well with the first 60, but spawning started after the first couple of days and continued all the rest of the week. This is the second time in 3 weeks, and affected fishing dramatically making it a really difficult week. Two of our guys blanked unfortunately, which we hate to see, but we cannot predict the weather and water temperatures, but luckily this does not happen often at our lake.
Still a good few weights caught though. 26 carp with 6 lost totalling 1,053lb’s and averaging 41lb.
2 – 60’s, 1 – 50, 7 – 40’s, 14 – 30’s, 2 – 20’s.

LAC LES PINS CATCH RESULTS 2011
28th May – 4th June 2011
Two of our regular couples with their families from Essex at the lake this week. Fishing was exceptionally hard after spawning last week and into the beginning of this week. The large carp seem to be taking a well earned rest after two spawnings in 3 weeks, it has really taken it out of them, and no form of encouragement brought them to the net. Most lakes in this area have had the same experience we hear, and even though cooler with some rain and a nippy wind earlier in the week, they just could not be moved.
These guys have always had fantastic catches over the years they have been visiting us, but conditions this time were against them. Not to detract from the stunning specimens that were caught, they did catch 19 carp, totalling 663lb, with an average weight of 35lb. Well done guys under really difficult circumstances.

This week, 2 of our regulars from Cheshire, and 4 new anglers from Worcester visited us.
It was a slightly better week size wise, and although the week started well, a couple of our anglers did not get another bite all week after that. Weather could not make up its mind and went from brilliant sunshine to storm and rain to pretty chilly, especially at night. From experience of other years, when the weather is so changeable, this affects the carp’s eating habits.

LAC LES PINS CATCH REPORTS 2011
11th – 18th June 2011
This week, we had 5 anglers from Norfolk – 2 of our regular guys and 3 new. They had a great time, but again it was a very, very hard week for them.
The carp seem to be taking a long time recovering from their spawn but it did seem to be a particularly hard one. Considering this Spring has been the hottest and driest in 100 years, with a drought declared in most departments, it is no wonder that this is having an effect on the fishing.
It has become slightly cooler with some rain, although not enough yet to reduce water temperature, and rain does encourage the carp to start feeding, so we hope that things will improve from now on.
19 carp caught totalling 721lb with an aveage weight of 38lb. 3 lost.

LAC LES PINS CATCH RESULTS 2011
18th – 25th June 2011
We welcomed 3 of our regular anglers from East Sussex, also Graham Dunn visited us again, and we knew it was going to be an extremely hard week for them with the drought continuing. Droughts change the dynamics in a lake and can cause a sudden abundance in natural food.
April and May have surpassed in both heat and dryness, the drought of 1974, and aid has had to be given to stricken farmers with water being taken from some of the large Public lakes in the area. We have never known it like this.
Our guys still enjoyed their week with us, and got up to a few pranks with Colin, including getting him down to photograph their amazing catch (which was a large inflatable fish).
12 carp caught totalling 418lb, with an average of 35lb.

LAC LES PINS CATCH RESULTS 2011
25th June – 2nd July 2011
This week, as expected Graham decided to stay another week, and we had 4 of our regular anglers from Surrey who have been coming here since we opened – they have caught some blinding carp in the past, one of them, Paul Bolton caught the largest fish in 2008 with a 55lb’er. This time it was not to be, the continuing hot weather and ongoing drought took its toll once again, and we are now praying for rain. Lack of oxygen is making the carp lethargic, the larger fish going for deeper, cooler water.
The hot weather is forecast for another two weeks, then we hope that we can get back to normal.
15 carp caught totalling 545lb, with an average of 36.33lb. 5 lost.
41lb 4oz caught by Graham Dunn
Also
38lb 4oz, 36lb 8oz, 34lb 12oz, 34lb 10oz, 31lb 1oz, 30lb 14oz
And
29lb 13oz, 28lb 12oz, 28lb 3oz, 27lb, 25lb 6oz, 25lb x 2, 24lb 13oz.
Graham Dunn - 41lb 4oz

Mark Allen - 38lb 4oz

Neil Green - 36lb 8oz

Mark Allen - 34lb 12oz common

Again, we are waiting for more photos to come.
