Surface Fishing

Post  sweets on Sat Jul 24, 2010 6:36 am

Hi Everyone

Done my first surface fish today with bread, WOW, I managed to break my personal best and hooked a 15lb carp......along with a few other nice ones, all over 10lb...
need some advice?
I was surface fishing on quiver tip,....each time I caught I had untangle my line, break it off and start again, its 15lb line on the reel, with a bubble float with 10lb line attached, is the line rubbish? cause seems its stretching every time...... or am I doing something wrong?
My son has 10lb line on carp rod, and he had no problems......
cheers

Karen ....Carp lover lol Question Very Happy

Well done on the new PB, keep it up, as for line, might be worth going to 10lbs main line, as your using 10lbs as a hooklink, what line is your 15lbs, some lines can be really wirery, and not good at all.... Wink

changed me line to a 10lb line and was pulling them out all day long......well I had 7, lol
got me scales now so can weigh them instead of having to guess, but I think 15lb is still my best catch...and I am loving it.
