Etang de Planchon is a friendly carp fishing destination within the Haute Vienne region of France, near the lovely market town of Chateauponsac which has bars, restaurants and shops and is 30 minutes away from Limoges Airport.

This beautiful four acre lake is set in a ten acre estate and is a secluded and secure venue which caters for a maximum of five anglers per week, licensed for day and night fishing where no permits are required.
This is the perfect destination for first timers to France, novice or well seasoned anglers. You can be assured of a very warm and friendly welcome at a venue with superb facilities and great fishing.

The venue also includes a fully contained two bedroom Gite overlooking the lake, which can be hired and is ideal for anglers bringing their family, friends and partners.

FISH STOCK

The lake will initially be stocked with 152 carp that have never been caught and are eagerly waiting for you to come and catch them. Stocking will be taking place in November/ December 2010.

LOCATION
By Air
The hassle free option is to fly directly to Limoges Airport where you will be chauffeured from and to the airport. The venue is 30 minutes from the airport.
For those who have selected the ‘All Inclusive’ package, your swim will be setup with your equipment ready for your arrival.
By Road
The journey takes approximately 6.5 hours from Calais.

FACILITIES AND ACCOMMODATION

Anglers Facilities
There is a dedicated anglers comfort and refreshment area which is open 24/7 where you will find tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge-freezer to store your supplies and a sink. There are power sockets with English extension leads for charging your mobile phones or camera batteries.

For those not wanting to "bivvy up", or if you choose to bring your partner or family, there is the option of staying in the luxurious fully furnished two bedroom Gite over looking the lake, which has its own private entrance and is available for an extra charge.
Bathroom and Shower
There is a toilet, shower, basin and mirror available 24/7 within the anglers area which are cleaned daily. The shower and basin have hot water available day and night.

Dining
Should you opt for the full package, home cooked Breakfast and evening meals are included and served in our dining area, inside the main house or outside on the sun patio overlooking the lake.
Breakfast
– An option of a full English/continental breakfast or a choice of baguettes with tea/coffee and fruit juices.

Evening Meals
– A hot meal prepared on site from fresh local produce. Individual dietary requirements and personal preferences will be taken into account.
• There is an option of a weekly BBQ should you prefer. All meat and vegetables will be prepared with home made marinades, plain or spicy, the choice will be yours!
• There is also an option of traditional home cooked authentic Indian and Thai curries should you wish.
• For those who do not want to reel their rods in, food, drinks and bait can be delivered to your swim upon request. Should you need anything that is not available on site, we can take you to the local shops or get the supplies on your behalf.
• If you have not opted for the "All Inclusive" package, meals can be provided for you as an additional supplement.


Gite Accommodation
The kitchen is fully fitted and houses a large dining table. It is equipped with a gas cooker and oven, fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, utensils and cutlery.

The main double bedroom has a double bed and 2 single beds, with an en-suite shower and a separate en-suite toilet. The second bedroom consists of a double futon bed. The Gite has potential to sleep a maximum of 10 people if the sofa beds in the lounge are also used.

There is also a garden patio set on the outskirts of the lake area, with a childrens swingset, a perfect area to keep the kids amused and to soak up some sun.

Sun loungers are available on request for a small supplement if you want to laze around and get a nice tan.

If you fancy some outdoor cooking, there is a BBQ on the patio and charcoal can be purchased on site

If a cooling off is what you need, there are plenty of swimming pools in the local area, the first being 5 minutes away in Chateauponsac."

Its looking good put 153 virgin carp in my lake 3 years ago and there are still Carp there that have not seen a hook yet and they have breed like crazy ....must get it netted this winter ........good luck with your venture.

Thanks Ron, lake digging is coming along nicely and all on plan which is great..can't wait to put the pics and videos up!
On day 1, 2 of the diggers got stuck in the silt.... 1 digger pulled the other one out, then the other digger sunk in the silt and also had to get pulled out...took a few hrs for the second digger as it was badly stuck..., highly amusing to watch...
No more diggers have sunk since then, we've also had a stock pond dug for the smaller carp. Looking at the lake now..I can't wait to fish it!

Etang de Planchon - Lake development Progress Update

The majority of the lake development work at Etang de Planchon has now been completed.
The lake has been dug out and silt removed, the island has been built, the streams have been cleared, the stock pond has been dug, new grills have been put in place and the dam wall has been protected.
