Re: bait making
blimey mate, your in for some long evenings in the kitchen....!!!
its got to be easier to use a good quality base mix, and cut it with another or something else, rather than going down the from scratch route.
but I'm sure someone will be along shorty with an answer....

Re: bait making
used to make my own, and found using a good quality base mix and flavours the best way forward, as the hard work of blending had already been done, so it just ment adding my flavours, colour, etc and making the bait up, i had the bait gun and rolling tables all from gardner tackle, an old food blender came in handy,as did an pressure cooker pan for boiling the bait, only used to do a handfull at a time, then skim off the scum on the water, ready for the next lot, making about a kilo maybe 2 at a time, then airdry and bag and freeze.
could make up a fair amount of the course of a week or two....
just be carefull, squid koi rearer stinks the house out for days!!!!!

it depends on what you want to know, boiling times to size ratio, recipes, added extras, etc

Re: bait making
welcome!..
It can be a mare to get started but a lot of fun!..Best thing to do is keep it simple at the start and dont go over the top with flavours in a long term bait.
There are many ways of going about it but it depends on what you want from the bait you are designing as far as ingredients go..
ave fun!

Re: bait making
why is that there are the anglers that want the help of others just thinking jump on a internet forum and the carpers will spill everything we have all learned........
Sorry matey it aint that easy...........pmfpl
use your own brain when makin your own bait thats why your doing the bait making aint it.........!!!!!!!!!
If we all told you what we have learnt from are own research...everyone would be on it...
Go find your own edges and go about testing your own flavour combo's that we have all done and tried out in the past........
and yes it takes time with trial and errors more errors than success....
And do your own research instead of trying to jump on somebody else band wagon.......
tipical noddy wanting everything handed on a plate....
