Reuben Heaton Digital Scales

Eventually decided to swtich over to the new digital scales from Reuben heaton. I'd resisted the temptation to go digital until Reuben started manufacturing as i thought if Reuben are now going digital the technology must be good enough now.

The spec of the scales is

• 50 weight memory
• lb/kg option setting
• Backlight
• High impact body
• Runs on 1 x PP3 9v battery (not supplied)
• Weight = 420g (15oz)
• Dimensions:- Length = 220mm (8ins) x Diameter = 120mm (4.75ins) x Thickness = 40mm (1.5ins).

First impression are good, Quality build and quality product,Good backlight function,Battery does not drain too quickly,pinpoint accuracy and trying to decide the correct weight is a thing of the past.

Only downside and its not a major thing but if you are trying to use a weighing handle its difficult to get the scales to settle for a reading if you have a fish flapping around. I would say a tri pod is vital for these scales and then you get the reading straight away

Also they should chuck in a battery as you have to buy that! Only a minor thing but when you spend £60 you expect a battery for a quid to be in the box !

Some people will not want to go digital full stop but if you are thinking about it I would highly reccomend these scales

If you want to weigh your fish accuratly a tripod is a must anyway.

I used to have a pair of Jackson Digital scales they were bloody good for thier money but a little inacurate below 8lb in weight (not the end of the world) I would surgest testing them Admin as it is lower weight that most digital scales suffer.

Me personally Ruben Heatons all the way analog mind you.

Inaccuate below 8lb ! Thats wrongen stuffed then for all his catches ! LOL

digi's are ok as long as they are calibrated at least once a year .......my fox scales were 2lb.7oz out in 10 mouths out of fishing ...so keep an eye on them lad's
