pleasure anglers on carp stocked waters

Post  nickb on Fri Jul 31, 2009 6:36 pm

I fish a couple of lakes with known 25lbs+ carp in them, these lakes are not carp only lakes, and all sorts of people fish them, which I have no problem with at all, they all pay a membership, so nothing stopping them from fishing, where i have a problem, is in the fact that carp will pick up any bait in the right spot, meaning is it not correct to ask for a min breaking strain line, and a standard size landing net and unhooking mat??? again i stress the fact that large carp are known in these waters.....

what are your feelings towards this issue.

I was thinking about this earlier, then i saw an old chap on the pond where i regularly fish, the carp are only up to 15lb, but as he pottered off to his car i saw his gear dissapear into davy jones locker, it floated 1/2 way across the pond and dissapeared.

Potentially one of the best fish in the pond now has a rod and reel attached to it Evil or Very Mad

thats just poor angling... unattended rods, no bait runner etc etc.
