Also support ECHO and believe that all serious carp anglers should.

They're not at all the keep it real brigade that a lot of people accuse them of but a neccessary group of passionate anglers that actually do make a difference to secure the future of carp and carp fisheries in Britain. Whether they were born here or not Wink

Massive steps have already been taken in the fight to stop illegal movements of carp, the funding of research into carp diseases such as KHV and SVC and efforts to tighten the regulations governing the import of carp from abroad.

My friend and I run a carp fishery in Lincs and see the importance of supporting ECHO from both sides of the fence , so to speak, so raise money for them at our annual social get together.

It costs less than the price for a fishing license to help secure the future of our sport Wink

ECHO

Post  Jim on Mon May 04, 2009 12:43 pm

A very necessary organization. The illegal importation of foreign fish could have catastrophic effects on fish stocks in this country. I just hate to see it when a truck load of carp is found being imported illegally, and they are all killed. The carp, and not the importers (lol). Shame they can't be returned alive to their point of origin. Maybe the importers should be made to do this - at their own expense, of course.

Looks good Ron. Ive seen the organisation before but must admit I like a lot of anglers wasnt 100% sure about what their agenda is.

The website gives you a much better idea of what they are trying to achieve cheers

Are their any other organisations around now as I know the Carp Society are still going?
