eco solar carp holdall

Post  nickb on Mon Apr 27, 2009 5:30 pm

saw this the other week, and have got one on order, which i hope to have next week, normal mid size bag, green in colour, and has a strap, and is designed as a tackle bag, but it has a solar panel built in the top for charging phones, ipod, or simular, seems like a great idea, so am awaiting it arrival..... Wink

been out a few times, and the bag has done its job, the solar panel and unit is working okay, you do need to plug the unit into a pc/lap top to give it a charge, but leads come with it for that, i left mine on for 24hrs.
no real instuctions came with the bag, but all is well so far. sunny
will keep the posts going, and if any problems arise.... Wink Wink Wink

Solar power charge

Post  Admin on Sat May 16, 2009 3:32 pm

Looks like a handy pice of kit Nick. What sort of charge does it give off though? Can you charge a laptop/mp3 player etc or just a phone and how long does it take to charge stuff up?

it puts out 5.8v, and comes with various adaptors, ipod etc, not sure how long it will take to charge a phone from flat, but is very usefull for keeping the phone topped up...

then it sounds like a crap bag to me,as the mobile phone should be switched off when your fishing, and i dont think we as other anglers need to here your convo from the otherside of the lake as you shout down it thinking it was a tin can with fucking string on the end...so the bags crap in my mind....(joking)
buy a proper charger unit like the jump start packs...loads of proper power and last ages.......end of.......

been using the bag for a while and its okay, do need to keep the charge unit topped up, but no problem to just leave it plugged in, and charging during the day, have found that the pockets only have one zip which is a pain really, and could do with mesh pockets on the outside as well, and the storeage pocket inside could do with a zip or velcro fastening.
but all in all not a bad bag.
would i buy another, possable.....
