If it was me the bait I would use is raw liver or leaches if you can get hold of them.
Good luck

thankyou for that, i have tried liver before with no luck, i will try again, im fishing at wintons burgess hill which is fishing well at mo, last time i fished there which was for carp as well they were spawning, its funny but every time i go its amazing how the winds in the wronge direction, its to hot, the bldy fish are spawning, low press high press, you have to have a degree in weather now, any way i feel lucky, if it was that easy we wouldnt do it

As you may know with cats they tend to feed at night, so if you are fishing in daytime try to find a nice dark hole under a tree or something where they may be held up, it may also be worth going to a fish counter in tescos or something and getting some oily fish like smelt

hi all, just got back from a weekend fishing, i was going for carp and cats, thankyou for the tips itried it all apart from leaches what a waste it was totally dead, on the 1st off june one chap got 11 catfish out it fished well for a week then nothing, the only thing we got was a bream each if i was match fishing it would have been great but not when your going for big stuff, i cant fault the venue but i did turn hot suddenly, there saying that the cats seem to feed in cicles every 10 days they change, a chap next to us got a 54lb cat so to be able to watch wot he did was interesting, anyway im knackered doing nothing all weekend so im going to have a few sherbuts then bed, better luck next time
